With the popularity of Hypereutectic pistons and their pricing being less then forged pistons it would be good to consider what these pistons are and what they are good for. Hypereutectic pistons are, in short, pistons with silicone added to them. Now why do they do this? Well by adding silicone to metal you cut down on the thermal expansion of the metal. Why is this important? Well because a piston will expand they will be loose in the cylinder when the engine is cold, this allows a small amount of fuel to get trapped in the piston rings. This trapped fuel adds to unburnt emissions which add to your hydrocarbons in the exhaust. If you cut down your thermal expansion you can get tighter fitting pistons providing less of a gap for fuel to get stuck. Of course this is not a big factor anymore with the introduction of fuel injection. Now how do they compare to other pistons? Well this depends on the amount of silicone added. Now it is true that you can buy forged hypereutectic pistons, however, this would be more expensive then forged pistons and harder to find because most are cast. Now with the cast pistons the more silicone you add, the more susceptible it becomes to damage from pre-ignition or detonation over plan cast metals. So what does this mean? Well in a nut shell, hypereutectic pistons are a great choice for non-forced induction cars... and yes running nitrous is considered (by some at least) forced induction. I hope this helps out when it comes to your piston selection.
