i bought my Esi for 500$. I drove it 160 miles a day for about 6 months and it served me very well! Iver time I put a few bucks into it and kind of brought it back to life a little. I know it's not a 4g63 but this little 420a runs like a champ and hasn't left me stranded. I'm not racing it or anything and if you only knew how bad the roads In Maine are you would understand why she's not lowered or anything. All my internals are forged from Wiseco and Eagle. I hope to some day turbo it! The cougar Is now one of my daily drivers, it's pretty reliable but is still just a cougar and I thought I'd include it because it's what gets me back and forth to work to make my money for the Talon lol.... Pics are all taken in my Garage , notice at times i really make a mess!!
Wow. You really cleaned up that engine bay. Looks really good.
You really did a nice job on bringing that Talon back to life. 420A's are fun too. My brother has one and its got more balls than I thought it would. Great job man keep it up!
thanks! i hope when it comes time to turbo it everything works out great. I have many many more parts and gadgets to install when that time comes!
I cant wait to see it! I like seeing the 420a Turboed. Keep us updated. When do you think you will be turboing it.
ill turbo it when i get the extra money..lol. which doesnt look like that'll happen anytime soon! I think on Monday I'll be re registering it and start driving it on the road again, that should be exciting itself!
Hell yah! Its alwas great to finally drive something you have put so much work into.
Hope you have lots of fun tearin' it up in your DSM man! I love drivin' around in mine! Nothing excites me more lol.
What else do you plan on doing? Like for your turbo setup, how much boost, and power?
im not sure whats going to be on it for a turbo set up yet.. I do have 1400$$ worth of wiseco pistons in her and about another 600 for the forged eagle h-beam rods.. everything internal is aftermarket. I do have 660cc injectors, wideband 02 sensors, a venom intake and throttle body... anyway theres more that will be going on when i finally get money to buy a turbo..lol. for now I'm running mostly stock components
Nice dude! sounds like a great start. Cant wait to see progress.
unfortunately this great start has completely broke the piggy bank..lol. anyway i believe if i do turbo it 12 lbs of boost will be maximum for me. BUT i will have the loudest BOV that HKS has to offer.. I want everyone on the sidewalks to know she's boosted..lol
Sounds awesome man! You deffinately have made it a "boostable" 420a. My brother wants to boost his but he dont understand the work it requires. I told him to just buy one thats already boosted. But when you do something like what your doing, you can appreciate it that much more. I can relate, my TSi has broken my bank so many times its ridiculous.
Check out these threads if you already haven't.

There is some great information there for the 420A.
Your engine bay definitely came a long way. I love to see people taking the time to have a nice looking bay.
